Challenges

What costs retailers orders.

Six IT challenges we see across retail and e-commerce, and how we address each one.

ChallengeWith DevOps TechLab
Sale-day crashes

Traffic jumps five to ten times during a festive sale or a campaign, and the site slows or goes down at the worst moment.

StartupSMBEnterprise
Load-tested autoscaling and a sale-day war room
Slow pages lose orders

Every extra second on product and checkout pages costs conversions, especially on mobile networks.

StartupSMBEnterprise
CDN, caching and image optimisation
Stock out of sync

Website, stores and marketplaces each show different stock, leading to cancelled orders and overselling.

SMBEnterprise
Integrated inventory and order flows
Payment and customer data risk

Card data, addresses and phone numbers make retailers a target for fraud, bots and data theft.

StartupSMBEnterprise
PCI DSS scope reduced, WAF and bot protection
Stores without reliable IT

POS terminals, store Wi-Fi and devices fail with no one on site to fix them.

SMBEnterprise
Managed store networks and devices
Cloud bills that never come down

Capacity added for the sale stays running for months after the rush is over.

Peak readiness

Ready before the sale starts.

An eight-week plan so your storefront, checkout and integrations hold up on the busiest days of the year.

Omnichannel

One view of stock, every channel.

Website, app, marketplaces and stores connected to ERP and warehouse, so customers see what you actually have.

Payments and customer data

Secure checkout, protected customers.

Six controls that keep card data out of your systems, stop bots and fraud, and protect customer data.

  1. Card data kept out of your systems

Hosted checkout and tokenisation through your payment gateway, so card numbers never touch your servers and PCI DSS scope stays small.

  2. Web application firewall

Common attacks, card testing and credential stuffing blocked before they reach the storefront.

  3. Bot and fraud controls

Rate limits and bot rules that stop scalpers, scrapers and fake orders without blocking real shoppers.

  4. Admin access locked down

MFA, named accounts and least-privilege access for store admins, agencies and developers.

  5. Customer data under the DPDP Act

Consent, retention and deletion of customer data planned with your team.

  6. Logging and alerts

Logins, admin changes and payment errors logged and watched, with alerts on anything unusual.

This is general guidance, not legal advice. Your payment gateway and legal advisers confirm your PCI DSS and DPDP obligations.

Speed and conversions

Stores and teams

IT for every store and head office.

Networks, devices, email and access for store staff, warehouse teams and head office, managed centrally.

  • POS and store networks

Secure store Wi-Fi, separate networks for POS and guests, and a backup connection so billing never stops.

  • Store devices

Tablets, handhelds and laptops enrolled, locked to the apps staff need and wiped remotely if lost.

  • Email and Teams for every store

Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace for head office, with frontline plans for store staff.

  • One GST invoice

Cloud, licences and devices billed together, below list price.

Cloud cost through the year

Spend rises with the festive season, then returns to base, instead of staying at peak all year.

  1. Autoscaling

Capacity follows traffic up and back down, hour by hour.

  2. Commitments for the base

Savings plans or reserved capacity for the load you run all year.

  3. Spot for batch work

Image processing, feeds and reports run on discounted spare capacity.

FAQ

Questions from retail and e-commerce teams.

Will our site stay up during a big sale?
We load test at two to three times your expected peak, fix what breaks, set autoscaling and keep engineers on watch on the day. No one can promise zero issues, but you will not be finding the limits live.
Do you work with Shopify and other platforms?
Yes. For hosted platforms like Shopify we focus on integrations, apps, data and security; for Magento, WooCommerce or custom stores we also run the infrastructure.
Does card data pass through our servers?
It should not. We design checkout so card data stays with your payment gateway, which keeps your PCI DSS scope small. Your gateway confirms the final requirements.
Can you connect our stores, marketplaces and ERP?
Yes. We build and monitor the integrations that keep stock, orders and prices in sync across channels.
How do you keep cloud costs down after the sale?
Autoscaling brings capacity down automatically, and we review and remove anything added for the sale. You see cost per order every month.
Can you bill in INR?
Yes. Cloud, licences and devices on one GST invoice, below list price.

Talk to an engineer

Start with a 20-minute review. Leave with a plan.

An engineer looks at your current setup, points out what’s costing you money or risk, and tells you what we’d fix first. No sales deck, no obligation to go ahead.

Every month you wait, the bill grows, the audit gets harder and the AI project waits another quarter.
